We now move onto the 3 rd album The Fine Art Of Surfacing.
The album was the same the world over with no song changes or different running order.
Released on Ensign in the UK.
Mulligan in Ireland.
Columbia in the USA and on Mercury in other country’s around the world.
It was released in most of Europe and for the first time a Boomtown Rats album was released in South America in places like Argentina,Brazil,Venezuela and in Mexico and Canada.
It was released in Israel,South Africa,Japan,Australia and New Zealand.
There might be a copy released in Hong Kong but I am looking into that and waiting for a reply from someone.
The only slight change I have seen is on the rear cover where the names of the band is different and the American version the track listing is different writing compared to the UK Version.
The UK rear cover.
The American rear cover with some of the band members named differently and different track listing writing.
Just a quick update here is a picture of the Japan copy.
Also I have been told that the album was released in Hong Kong.I will put a picture up later as I have just ordered it😀.
Thank you – I really enjoy these posts! It made me dig out my old vinyls again! :)
I wonder what's behind all the differences. For example, why were the names changed? Just a mistake/mix up, or was there anything behind it? Why was the writing changed?
Thanks for all these and sharing the album covers.
